Quilts are traditionally created to tell a narrative through piecing cloth. Often made in groups called a collaborative bee to speed up the work process.

Kaffe Fassett is known for his bold designs and vibrant prints. I have been a fan of his for many years. He is a costume and set designer for the Royal Shakespeare Company and The UK based Northern Ireland Ballet Theatre. I love his distinctive colour palette and his distinctive style. He has dedicated his life work to knitting, sewing, needlepoint as well painting and ceramics and much much more!

These are a couple of quilts I have made. One is inspired by Kaffe Fassett I have worked off one of his designs and used a majority of his fabrics. The second is a foundation pieced animal quilt of which I have made two. One for each child! They gave me the original inspiration for making a quilt come to life through 3D. I know I can do the piecing - after that the rest is more than achievable! The hare and the bird are patterns I was thinking about experiment with. Below is a sketch of the idea I had to turn 2D quilting into fantasy 3D set. Domestic cat evolves into Egyptian style feline.
